MEGA STRIKE ON FEBRUARY 28, 2012 BY ALL TRADE UNIONS
Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala will face another 24 hours long hartaal or strike today the 29th Feb, 2012. With trade unions refusing to negotiate with the government after being called for talks at the last minute, the UPA government is preparing to tackle a general strike supported by most unions across the country.
Since most of the country's trade unions, including 11 central trade unions and 5000 smaller unions, have got together for to strike to protest rising prices, disinvestment of profit making PSUs, violation of labour laws etc. Almost all sectors except railways are likely to come to a standstill for 24 hours.
