MANI ACCUSED OF BABY'S MURDER Thirty years after the political murder of Youth Congress leader Baby Anchery in Idukki, Kerala Police registered a fresh case against CPM Idukki District Secretary MM Mani. Police registered the case under Section 120 (B) - conspiring to murder - and Mani has been listed as first accused. Six other CPM activists, including Mani's brother Lambodharan, are co-accused in the case. 

PETROL PRICES CUT BYU RS.2 IN INDIA After the government came under sharp criticism from both political parties and the general public over the steepest hike, petrol price was on Saturday cut by Rs.2 per litre, a partial rollback of the Rs.7.54 a litre increase effected more than a week ago. State-run oil companies agreed to a partial rollback following the public outrage over the sharp rise in petrol price. 80.1% POLLING IN NEYYATTINKARA Neyyattinkara: Tempting all major political fronts to stake claims of added advantage, the voters' turn out in Neyyattinkara Assembly by election hit a whopping 80.1% on Saturday. The turnout in the constituency  is the second highest in its history. The turnout in the constituency was 71.15% when R. Selvaraj won the seat on CPM ticket in 2011.
