PETROL PRICES CUT BYU RS.2 IN INDIA
After the government came under sharp criticism from both political parties and the general public over the steepest hike, petrol price was on Saturday cut by Rs.2 per litre, a partial rollback of the Rs.7.54 a litre increase effected more than a week ago.
State-run oil companies agreed to a partial rollback following the public outrage over the sharp rise in petrol price. The reduction, also the result of a fall in international oil prices, will come into force from, Saturday midnight.
