RBI TO LAUNCH PLASTIC CURRENCY ON PILOT BASIS
Amid instances of counterfeiting of notes, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Monday said it is working on launching plastic currency and will launch a pilot project for it.
Under the pilot project, notes of Rs.10 denomination would be distributed through the Central Bank's five regional offices. Plastic notes would have an average life span of five years compared to one year for the paper notes.
So, RBI to launch plastic currency on pilot basis.
