53 YEARS OF YASH'S RAJ AT BOX OFFICE ENDS
Mumbai: The multi-faceted Bollywood film maker Yash Raj Chopra, who dealt with triangulated lover affairs dark heroes and the grayness of life with the same magical and marquee touch, passed away at a local hospital on Sunday at 5.30pm. The 80 year old was admitted to the hospital about a week ago after he was diagnosed with dengue. A hospital source said " He had been suffering from complications of dengue for a long time. He suffered from multi-organ failure, because of which he died".
Yash Raj Chopra, who celebrated his 80th birth day on September 27 had announced his retirement in an interview with actor Shah Rukh Khan, a star whom he virtually created and with whom he shared a mutually energizing creative bond for the past 20 years. In the interview, Chopraji had mentioned spending more time with his wife and going on a holiday with her.
Chopra was a versatile film maker and his demise was a great loss for the Indian film industry.
