CASH TRANSFER FOR COOKING GAS FROM NEXT JULY
Get Aadhar Card and a bank Account.
New Delhi: Come July and you will get your subsidy for buying cooking gas in your bank account, marking the biggest shift in delivery of doles to help the government check leakages and reduced the fiscal strain.
The ambitious three phased deadline for a switch over based on Aadhar numbers was fixed by the Primer Minister's Office earlier this month. At a meeting chaired by Pulok Chatterjee, oil companies, finance and petroleum ministries and the Unique Identification (UID) Authority agreed to put in place a cash transfer mechanism in 50 districts with high Aaadhar penetration by January 1,2013. By April 1, all districts in states allocated to Aadhar, have to be completed and by July 1, the entire country has to be covered.
