79608 males living in Municipalities have Bank Accounts
37213 people in Kalamassery Municipality don't have Bank Accounts
70% people in the district is covered by Insurance, against the National average of 10%
2000 people voluntered for the banking survey which took six months to finish
6 lakh plus families were covered in the survey
40% of individuals in the district don't have bank accounts
30 lakhs plus individuals participated in the survey

The year long efforts by banks in Ernakulam district to extend their services to common man have borne fruit. Thanks to the no-frills accounts offered by banks and a survey funded by them.
Ernakulam district in India to achieve meaningful financial inclusion in the country. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and Reserve Bank of India Governor D Subbarao will officially annnounce it here on November 22.
