NO BID TO HIJACK PLANE : POLICE
Thiruvananthapuram: there was no attempt to hijack the Abu Dhabi - Kochi Air India Express flight that landed here on Friday senior officers told a DGCA official, who arrived here on Saturday to probe into the incident.
The Police maintained that it was a protest of higher degree that caused panic among the cabin crew, prompting the captain to send an SOS to the air traffic control.
Sarath Sreenivasan, regional deputy commissioner of the Bureau of Civil Aviation, Chennai, reached here following a directive of the Director General of Civil Aviation.
