The popular view is that a person will  display the characteristics associated with his or her sun sign. For example, characteristics typical of Capricorn include ambition, faithfulness, weak knee joints and a long lifespan. 

In reality, however, many people born with the Sun in Capricorn may well have little ambition, be unfaithful, have perfect knees or many have died young.
