THREE OF A FAMILY HELD FOR ROBBERY Alappuzha: Three members of a famikly including a young couple, accused in numerous temple and jewellery theft cases in four districts, were arrested by Ambalapuzha Police on Wednesday. They arrested Raveendran (4) of Mangalapuram, Trivandrum, his son Ayyappan (23) and daughter-in-law Lakshmi (20). As was the Police, Ayyappan started theft with the support of his father when he was a 13 year old boy. He had been an inmate of Juvenile Home Poojappura, Kollam District jails and Kottarakkara, Attingal and Alappuzha Sub jails. Two years ago he married lakshmi  and she too soon became an active member of their team.

GOVT WON'T LIFT BAN ON PRIVATE PRACTICE OF DOCTORS: HEALTH MINISTER Alappuzha: Health minister VS Sivakumar said his government will not remove the ban on government doctor's private practice  in the state and the UDF will also follow the last LDF government's stand in this connection. Sivakumar was speaking to newsmen here on Saturday. "The doctors, who conduct private practice and also receive non-practice allowance from the state government, will face stringent action from the state goveernment.
